Project Description

TheĀ Pepsi production and distribution center in Hayward, California, included construction of the fleet maintenance area, filling room, production area, warehouse, and finished office space.

This design-build project with DES Architects + Engineers included site utilities, paving, landscape and significant modifications to Hesperian Boulevard.

The facility was constructed with 125 forty-foot high tilt-up panels. The panelized roof truss system used both traditional built-up and sheet metal roofing, including 172 skylights. The facility also included the installation of a first-class warehouse slab-on-grad and a stainless steel tank system for manufacturing the various Pepsi beverages.

Acid-resistant underground piping was installed to transport the ingredients. Other unique features include concrete masonry walls, dual-sloped floors and furnane-grouted quarry tile.
