Project Description

The project houses high-tech departments that consist of office workspace, labs and support functions, surface and new 545,000sf, four-story cast-in-place above-grade parking structure including 1,610 stalls, as well as such amenities as a conference center, a theater, company store, fitness center and cafés.

The project has aggressive sustainability goals, including LEED Platinum certification, Net Zero water certification under the Living Building Challenge, and Well Building certification. Specific features include black and grey water treatment systems, bioswale filtration, thermal energy storage tanks, and a green living roof.

The Blackwater Treatment System captures rainwater and fully treats sewage generated from the campus, creating "blended water" which is stored in four 75,000-gallon underground fiber glass storage tanks on the east side of the parking structure. Blended water is then recirculated throughout the campus for irrigation and fulfill 100% of the campuses non-drinking-water needs in addition to enhancing habitat restoration.

643,647sf new and renovated gross floor area distributed across two of the existing office buildings: one major new building that subsumes the existing. Coordination was key for the success of a project this scale, especially using cross-laminated timber (CLT). Architectural, structural, and MEPS systems all had to be coordinated with the mass timber systems.
