Project Description

Continuing our 12-year relationship with the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, we constructed a new Central Plant and Electrical Infrastructure Renewal/Expansion Project.

The scope included the replacement of chiller equipment, cooling towers, high temperature boilers, supply fans and all the associated distribution/circulations systems. Electrical scopes included replacement of main 15KV switchgear and associated feeders as well as the replacement of the low voltage switchgear and motor control centers. The new 22,495sf central utilities plant challenged the team as ongoing operations at Salk Institute—where research of molecular biology and genetics, neurosciences and plant biology—were maintained.
