Revizto Site & Closing the Gap Between Model and Field

VDC has begun conducting targeted on-site training sessions focused on Revizto Site, with the goal of extending model-based collaboration from preconstruction into active construction. These sessions are designed to ensure that the same shared workflows used during design coordination continue to support field teams as projects move into execution.
A consistent challenge has emerged as projects transition from preconstruction into construction. During preconstruction, project teams collaborate heavily within Revizto, leveraging the model as a shared source of truth for design review, issue tracking, and solution development. Once construction begins, however, that level of collaboration typically declines, even though Revizto remains licensed and available throughout the duration of the project.
This transition can create gaps in communication and coordination between office and field teams.
To address this gap, VDC has been conducting targeted on-site training sessions focused on Revizto Site, with the intent of carrying forward the same model-based collaboration established during preconstruction into active construction. The objective is to reinforce field adoption and maintain continuity in how teams communicate and solve problems directly within the model environment.
The goal is to maintain the same level of collaboration established earlier in the project. Keeping Revizto active in the field allows discussions around field conditions, constructability concerns, and design clarifications to occur in the same environment where they were originally developed. This continuity supports clearer communication between the field and office, faster resolution of field issues, and higher-quality documentation of decisions and solutions. Keeping teams connected within the same model environment helps improve clarity and speed up decision-making.
Revizto Site also provides a stronger platform for field issue tracking. Experience has shown that tracking issues within Revizto is more effective than relying on disconnected comments or markups in Bluebeam, particularly when issues extend beyond isolated drawing references. This approach remains valuable for any field-driven issue that benefits from spatial context, model reference, and clear ownership, regardless of whether it is strictly drawing-related.

Additionally, Revizto’s augmented reality (AR) capabilities introduce new opportunities to proactively identify and address issues by visually comparing the coordinated model against existing field conditions. This early detection helps prevent avoidable rework, schedule impacts, and unnecessary costs by catching misalignments before they escalate into time loss or change-driven impacts to the job.
Overall, expanding the use of Revizto Site reinforces a consistent, model-based communication strategy throughout the entire project lifecycle, ensuring that the collaboration, accountability, and clarity achieved during preconstruction continue into construction.
