Cal State East Bay CORE Project Team secures R&S’s Eighth VPP certified project

July 15, 2021

All our jobsites run the same robust safety program, and on projects with longer schedules, we partner with Cal/OSHA Consultation to participate in their Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) - Construction. The VPP Construction program is a great opportunity to share our culture of safety and passion for building with the entire team while promoting teamwork with all jobsite stakeholders.

Our Cal State East Bay CORE Building project team was recently recognized with the VPP Construction certification, R&S’s eighth project to receive this distinction. As part of the program, R&S mentors trade contractors to achieve excellence in their own programs, prepares extensive safety program documentation, and participates in several site inspections.

Each new certification award further strengthens our culture, advances our relationship with Cal/OSHA and ensures more people go home safely to their families.

We pursue this prestigious certification because we believe it’s the right thing to do. This certification instills extra confidence in our clients and trade partners knowing we stand by our value of Safety.

Rudolph and Sletten is proud to be one of just seven commercial general contractors in California participating in this program. We’re one of only two general contractors with multiple, active certified worksites.

The CSU East Bay CORE Building Project

Purposefully located in the center of campus, the CORE will blend the offerings of a traditional library with real-world incubator-type environments, student services and assistance, group project spaces, and presentations and research offerings. The facility will also serve as a home away from home for the large commuter student population.
