Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, Bldg 3

Located on about 10 acres, Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center's new 90,000-square-foot science research building will have more than 71,000 square feet devoted to scientific research space.

In addition to the laboratory, office, and auditorium space, the project includes a 10,500 square-foot subterranean vivarium space and a 37-stall subterranean parking garage.

Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center in San Diego seeks new cures for cancer by using laboratory research to understand how cancer cells differ from normal cells in the body. Their mission is to use that information to develop better means of cancer diagnosis and prevention as well as to find more effective and less toxic forms of cancer treatment by targeting the cancer cell and its blood supply through molecular and immunological targeting.

Rudolph and Sletten self-performed the structural concrete including the auditorium risers and rough carpentry work.
