City of Redwood City, City HallFor the city of Redwood City, Rudolph and Sletten built a highly efficient, cost-conscious central government building that unified the civic center area of downtown Redwood City. The Redwood City’s City Hall is a two-story steel structured with a brick-veneered exterior and Spanish-styled roof. The building house city government office spaces, public service areas, and an octagonal-shaped council chambers that creates a strong symbol of government. Outside the building there is decorative concrete, flower gardens, and benches around the flag pole. At 42,000 square feet, it is twice the size of the original 1912 city hall. The City Hall features lots of windows and glass doors, letting the sun pour into the headquarters of the city that claims the title, ``Climate Best by Government Test.'' Although the building has a bright feel, the brick facade gives it the traditional look of a government center. The City Hall also helped bolster downtown by becoming a focal point for community events. Project Details
