Rudolph and Sletten Corporate Headquarters
Redwood City, California
With 88 LEED Accredited Professionals in-house, Rudolph and Sletten, Inc. General Contractors has always been an innovator in green building practices, and has built a number of LEED certified or green projects throughout California. When our growth required moving our corporate headquarters to a larger space, our immediate goal was to receive at least LEED Gold for the new tenant space. In 2006, our new headquarters earned a Gold rating on the new 2.0 version of Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI). Read more.

Sun Microsystems Santa Clara Campus
Santa Clara, California
Recycling and salvaging were very important aspects of the Sun Microsystems corporate campus project in Santa Clara.  Over 100,000 tons of concrete from old structures was crushed and reused in parking lots, roads, and structural fill.  Tens of thousands of clay tiles were reused on the new buildings, and thousands of tons of rebar was also recycled.  Select items which could not be reused on the project were sold off at a public auction.  Our recycling and material reuse efforts at the Santa Clara Sun Microsystems project is just one example of how Rudolph and Sletten builds responsibly.

Alum Rock Youth Center
San Jose, California
Rudolph and Sletten was the construction manager for the Alum Rock Youth Center.  After years of green-conscious construction, the finished center encompasses 17,200 square feet and stands as a measure of accomplishment for the neighborhood.  Carefully designed and oriented to maximize natural light and airflow, the Youth Center is able to optimize energy consumption and conserve natural resources.  Following the Silver LEED guidelines is a small accomplishment compared to what this building will do for the Alum Rock community.

Shaklee Corporate Headquarters
Pleasanton, California
The sustainable design of the Shaklee Corporate Headquarters focused on minimizing the building’s energy consumption through maximizing the use of daylight, thus reducing the use of electric lights. Installing an underfloor air supply which increases occupant comfort and also reduces the energy required used to cool or heat the building.  Keeping in line with Shaklee’s commitment to “harmony with nature,” Rudolph and Sletten used sustainable building materials and practices to produce an environmentally friendly building.

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory Molecular Foundry
Berkeley, California
The Molecular Foundry at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory will soon be California’s newest technological landmark.  This research facility for the design, synthesis, and characterization of nanoscale materials is one of just five nanoscale Science Research Centers established by the U.S. Department of Energy which also has environmentalists ecstatic.  Registered for the LEED organization’s prestigious Silver Rating, this future technology hub has incorporated sustainable elements into the design and construction process.  These sustainable efforts will result in 75% of construction waste being recycled and energy consumption being 30% below the state’s average.  Low emissions and renewable materials, such as bamboo flooring and paneling, are special features that will also be part of achieving the desired LEED Certification.
