SAM LAMONICA NAMED CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER FOR RUDOLPH AND SLETTEN
FOSTER CITY, CA (June 10, 2005)—Rudolph and Sletten, Inc. General Contractors today announced the appointment of Sam Lamonica as Chief Information Officer. In this capacity, Mr. Lamonica will oversee all of the company's information services, as well as corporate security and corporate records management.
Mr. Lamonica, who previously held the title of Information Services Executive, joined Rudolph and Sletten in 2003. During his tenure with Rudolph and Sletten, Mr. Lamonica has given the company a technology facelift, including the deployment of a new wireless infrastructure which allows remote sites and jobsite trailers to gain access to the management system, construction planning and collaboration programs.
"Sam Lamonica has brought in a state-of-the-art infrastructure which has virtually transformed the project life cycle at Rudolph and Sletten," said CEO Allen Rudolph. "His experience and expertise in implementing innovative technologies to increase communication, and thus productivity, has proven to be an indispensable business tool for our company."
Lamonica Backgrounder
Mr. Lamonica holds a degree in Information Systems Management from University of San Francisco and a degree in Business Management from Duke University.
Mr. Lamonica comes from a versatile background that combines customer service, communications, business, and technology. He began his career at Pacific Bell, working in their information services organization for approximately 18 years.
After moving to the high tech sector, Mr. Lamonica ran the World Wide Information Systems Organization for Macromedia, a ColdFusion and high profile web software company.
Prior to joining Rudolph and Sletten, Mr. Lamonica worked for North Point Communications Group as well as Phoenix Technologies.
"One of my career goals has been to take all of the great education and great knowledge that I had acquired in the many years that I've worked in high tech and apply it to a vertical market like construction where the technology wasn't as robust," Lamonica said. "Rudolph and Sletten gave me an opportunity to institute some of my ideas. It's a great company, with an excellent technology acceptance rate and a great culture."
To increase productivity, Mr. Lamonica has managed the implementation of several innovative technologies, including:
- Integration of the Delta Customer Relationship Management system. This system allows Rudolph and Sletten to manage virtually every aspect of the project life cycle from the time a customer first becomes a lead to the time they successfully complete a project. With this software, each step in the construction process is closely monitored, including composing and submitting high quality proposals to customers.
- Deployment of a new wireless infrastructure which allows remote sites to gain access to the management system, construction planning and collaboration programs.
- Deployment of Groundwork's Groundwork Monitor. Since this system has been on board, the network uptime has gone from 80% to 99.9%.
- Implementation of basic technological tools such as video conferencing and personal devices.
Mr. Lamonica, his wife Mary and their 15-year-old son are residents of Pleasanton. When he's not busy stabilizing a network or deploying a new wireless infrastructure, he enjoys spending time ballroom dancing and golfing.
