RUDOLPH AND SLETTEN EXPANDS SAN DIEGO OFFICE SPACE, MOVING ITS OFFICE TO A NEW LOCATION AND OFFERING BUILDING PRODUCTS SHOWCASE

SAN DIEGO, CA---(February 10, 2004)---Rudolph and Sletten General Contractors announced today the relocation and expansion of the company’s San Diego offices due to corporate growth. The new 12,000 square foot facility at 10955 Vista Sorrento Parkway is a build out of existing shell space and features a products showcase.

Rudolph and Sletten’s San Diego office has experienced rapid growth, expanding from $30 million in 1996 to over $200 million in 2003. The relocated headquarters provide an additional 4,000 square feet of office space to accommodate a workforce that has increased to 120 employees over the past year.

As part of the design of the build out, Rudolph and Sletten incorporated a showcase of building products for customer review, including finishes and prototypes of mechanical and electrical systems. Other showcase materials include glass and glazing systems, ceiling systems, wall materials, flooring materials, and exterior finish materials.

Open ceiling sections expose structural elements such as mechanical and electrical systems, while such interior finishes as frameless glass and a metal pane curtain wall system, slate tile, and prefinished walnut paneling give clients a chance to select finishes that are already in place. The design also incorporates several green building elements, including natural lighting with an interior glazing system, and use of rapidly renewable resources such as bamboo flooring.

“We are pleased with the growth of Rudolph and Sletten’s business in the San Diego region,” said Vice President Frank Jones, operations manager of the San Diego office.  “One reason we are growing is because we offer diverse services in a number of areas, including health care, biotechnology, pharmaceutical manufacturing and research facilities, and education. Our reputation for quality and technical expertise also contributes to our increased business.”

Rudolph and Sletten’s San Diego office has overseen a number of key construction projects in San Diego, including: the University of San Diego Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice and the Donald P. Shiley Center for Science and Technology; Sweetwater Union High School District, Otay Ranch High School and San Ysidro High School; The Salk Institute for Biological Sciences; the renovation of the San Diego Museum of Art; Sea World San Diego; and Scripps Research Institute.

Current assignments for Rudolph and Sletten’s San Diego office include the construction of Palomar/Palmarado hospitals, a two campus project that totals some $320 million. Other current projects include the University of California San Diego’s Roosevelt College Housing and Dining; University of California San Diego’s Electrical Engineering Building 3B; Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research and Development Center; La Jolla Playhouse Play Development and Educational Center; East Lake Middle School; Chula Vista Fire Station #7; Kaiser Rancho San Diego Medical Office Building; and Kaiser, San Marcos Outpatient Medical Center, Phase II.
