Position: Mechanical / Electrical / Plumbing Engineer
Location: Redwood City, Roseville, Irvine and San Diego


Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP)Project Engineers at Rudolph and Sletten must have good communications skills, be flexible and technically inclined, and have a desire to support the project team with their expertise in the MEP trades. A degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering, or equivalent work experience with a mechanical contractor, is required for this position.

The MEP Project Engineer's primary responsibilities are to:

  • Monitor mechanical and electrical subcontractor performance

  • Advise project manager and superintendent of potential problems and their effect on the project

  • Propose solutions to problems and initiate procedure for resolution

  • Inspect materials, procedures and installation for conformance to contract documents

  • Assist in scheduling mechanical and electrical work

  • Assist in problem solving and trouble shooting in conjunction with project management

  • Supervise start-up of mechanical, electrical and life safety systems

  • Review system function and operation with subcontractors

  • Develop, implement and supervise testing procedures

  • Monitor HVAC balancing method

  • Conduct system tests for demonstration to Architect, Owner, and

  • Fire Department Officials

  • Verify punchlist corrections

  • Assist in obtaining occupancy permits

  • Assist in coordinating response to warranty work, including 11month warranty walkthrough

  • Assist in preparation of Instructions to Bidders for mechanical and electrical work

  • Assist in analysis of mechanical and electrical subcontractor bids

  • Review submittals in conjunction with project management

  • Expedite equipment and material delivery
